Matt is an Athletics Australia ACCREDITED ATHLETICS COACH and has years of experience coaching athletes in trail, ultra and mountain running disciplines. Matt particularly enjoys working with long-term athletes in developing sustainable running training practices, particularly in terms of balancing this with other aspects of an athletes lives - social, family, working.
Matt is a strong believer in the need to train and recover sustainably, ensuring athletes perform to their potential over an extended period, without risk of over-training, over-racing or enjoyment fatigue. There must always be a love for what you're doing, and the desire to race should never overshadow the lust for exploration and adventure.
Matt is a husband and father and wants nothing more than to be a good example to his family, and to encourage his children to pursue their dreams with vigour.
Matt spends his free time running in the mountains, fastpacking, camping, snowboarding (admittedly not as frequently as he'd like) and drinking good coffee and craft beer. In no particular order.
